The event is scheduled for 1-4 April 2014. This is the first attempt by UBM Asia to organize a fair for the selection of jewelery suppliers in Western Europe, which will be a welcome addition to the busy calendar of exhibitions held by UBM in Japan, Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, India, Russia and Turkey.
Wolfram Diener, senior vice president of UBM Asia, noted the importance of the European market in the global jewelry industry. "Despite the recent economic uncertainty, the European jewelery and watches market continues to be stable and is expected to grow to $ 50.8 billion by 2017," Deener said.
The fair JGF Europe is primarily aimed at a wider international jewelry market. Medium and small manufacturers will have the opportunity to meet on it with European and international buyers. Until now, this segment has struggled to get the same visibility in Western Europe as jewelry fairs in Asia can offer.
This event will partly coincide with the traditional Basel jewelry-hour exhibition Baselworld in Switzerland. Such a decision was made consciously so that international buyers could easily visit both fairs. Freiburg is only 30 minutes from Basel and has excellent road and rail links.
