Fusion / Hennig Tenders said a diamond called Lesotho Pink Storm, recently mined by Namakwa at the Kao-based mine in Lesotho, will be put up for auction.
Idex Online reports that a pink diamond of type IIa weighing 36.06 carats, which has "unique gemological characteristics," will be sold at auction this month.
"We were very pleased to have the privilege of selling this rare and exclusive gem. Such large diamonds rarely combine the unique characteristics of color and quality. The tender is a tremendous opportunity for potential buyers to purchase such a valuable diamond, "said Fusion Tenders CEO Adam Schulman.
According to him, the company is "proud" of the quality of diamonds mined at the mine.
"Initiatives to optimize production, which are currently being implemented at the Kao enterprise, will ensure the sustainable production of quality diamonds in the long term," Shulman said.
