The All India Gem & Jewelery Trade Federation (GJF) announced the creation of the first "Jewelers Identity Card (JID), a unique digital identity card designed to establish trustworthy and legitimate business relations between those jewelry firms and their employees who are members of this organization. Member of the Cabinet of the United Council of Ministers of India, Kalraj Mishra (Kalraj Mishra) announced this innovation on February 21, 2015 at the annual event of the GJF - the National Ceremony for the awarding of jewelry to Mumbai.
Haresh Soni, chairman of the GJF, said: "Our JID system is designed to make all aspects of the national trade in precious stones and jewelry more convenient, especially for small jewelry firms, which will allow them to avoid the difficulties of obtaining certification from the government and authorities."
It is reported that GJF represents the interests of more than 600 thousand participants in the jewelry industry of India - cutters, wholesalers and retailers, distributors, laboratories, gemologists, designers, and representatives of related industries.
