Members of the Board of Directors of the Council for Responsible Jewelery Council (RJC) issued a resolution on the restructuring of the organization's management team at its meeting in London on April 1. Among the changes is the appointment of an executive director instead of a CEO, which is common practice in many non-profit organizations.
Catherine Sproule, acting general director of the board, will work together with the executive director to maintain an important continuity in the global structure of the RJC. Also, the new management structure of the organization will be the Director of Standards, as the Board decided to reassemble the standardization team after the recent restructuring. Successful application of the set of rules allowed RJC to concentrate on expanding the number of members of the organization both in the supply chain and in the geographical perspective. The recent appointment of the director of the Indian division of RJC again demonstrated the importance of the organization's participation in this trade area, as well as the key role of the Council in the jewelry pipeline.
The annual general meeting will be held on April 13, 2015 in Mumbai, India, after the meeting of the RJC Standards Committee. The program of the general meeting will also include a conference organized jointly with the Indian Diamond Exchange (Bharat Diamond Bourse, BDB).
