Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC) has made several announcements and presentations for the diamond industry of Antwerp regarding the departure of the Antwerp Diamond Bank (ADB) from the market.
In addition, AWDC organized a special hotline and a help desk, where everyone can contact with any questions. The AWDC also advised all Antwerp diamantaires to start looking for opportunities for obtaining alternative banking services.
The ADB notified AWDC that the bank will give an additional delay to all its customers until June 30. This delay will allow them to continue searching for a new bank. However, the closure of ADB remains a settled fact, and clients should carefully plan the timeframe for opening new accounts in other banks.
AWDC will assist diamond companies to the best of their ability if they can prove that they have made significant efforts to obtain payment mechanisms in other banks.
