An impressive forum will be held in Delhi (India) on December 11-12 with participation of national and international leaders of the diamond and diamond, jewelery and luxury industries, in order to discuss and reflect on the future design of the consumer market for diamonds and diamond jewelry, and also understand what tools and measures are needed to increase interest in diamonds from a new generation of consumers.
At this forum, which will take place at the First World Diamond Conference in India, organized by the Gem and Jewelery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and the World Diamond Mark Foundation (WDMF) with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of India, participants will hear the opinions of representatives of the diamond industry, as well as the industry in which retail jewelry and luxury manufacturers operate.
The conference will devote its first day exclusively to the topic related to various aspects of marketing diamonds and jewelry. From diamond miners who will express their views on the future of the industry, Philippe Mellier, Chief Executive Officer of De Beers; Ilya Ryaschin, Acting President of ALROSA; Andrey Polyakov, Vice-President of ALROSA; Jean Marc Lieberherr, Chief Executive Officer of Rio Tinto Diamonds; and Antonio Carlos Sumbula, Chief Executive Officer of Endiama.
Retailers will be represented by a group of prominent retail jewelers, including Kent Wong, chief executive officer of Chow Tai Fook; Darshan Mehta of Reliance Brands; Oded Edelman, founder and CEO of James Allen (online retailer); and Karim Merchant (Karim Merchant) of Pure Gold, Dubai.
Summarizing the meeting, Alex Popov, Chairman and CEO of WDMF, will talk about the industry perspectives of marketing and product promotion in the ever-changing luxury market, followed by a general discussion of the topic.
During the second day of the conference, thematic sections will be organized with the participation of experts who will discuss the current issues facing the diamond industry and the state of affairs in it. The World Diamond Conference in India will be held at the Vigyan Bhawan conference center. In time, it coincides with the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India and his meetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Nahendra Modi).
