A large number of companies representing the Israeli diamond industry will show their products in the expanded pavilion at the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show (HKTDC) in March this year.
In the pavilion, organized by the Israeli Diamond Institute (Israel Diamond Institute, IDI), there will be 115 companies. Among the Israeli firms there will be 11 companies that will participate for the first time in the Hong Kong exhibition. The area of ​​the Israeli pavilion in the Diamond Hall of the Hong Kong show was expanded to 1,560 square meters.
Companies from Israel will present diamonds of all shapes and sizes, some of which will show very large and important stones, as well as fancy diamonds and some selected samples of jewelry.
Hong Kong is the second largest diamond market in Israel, about 30% of the stones are shipped here. In addition, exporters from Israel also trade in other markets in the Asian region.
IDI chairman Moti Ganz said: "The demand for diamonds in Asia is growing, we see the potential for growth, more people in this region are looking at diamonds as the main attribute of luxury." We also see an increase in demand for diamonds as investment items ".
IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar said: "Demand for diamonds has increased in both Asia and the US in the past few months, the March show in Hong Kong is very important, as it is the debut in 2015 and attracts buyers from all over the region, even from Australia, for representatives of Israeli companies is an excellent opportunity to meet with current customers and conclude new contracts. "
Avidar added that IDI will take part in four trade events in Hong Kong this year.
