The seminar, the theme of which was the identification of synthetic diamonds, took place in the conference hall of Saurashtra Patidar Bhavan in Surat, a cutting center located in the Indian state of Gujarat, on February 4, 2015.
More than 600 craftsmen and diamond traders from small and medium-sized firms took part in a seminar organized by the Surat Diamond Association (SDA) in cooperation with the District Industries Center of the Government of Gujarat.
In his report, the Director General of the Indian Diamond Institute (IDI), Samir Joshi (Samir Joshi) spoke about the methods of cutting synthetic diamonds, as well as the D Screen and Melee Screening tool to test small diamonds that help to easily recognize natural and synthetic stones .
"Many traders and cutters from small and medium-sized companies are not aware of the latest changes in the industry, they do not know about new identification equipment, for which the seminar was very useful," SDA president Dinesh Navadiya said.
