The owners of the rights to the trademark of the European Gemmological Laboratory (EGL) informed all members of the global diamond industry and trade that the Eurogem laboratory in Israel, Ramat Gan (also known as EGL International), completes operations as a certified EGL laboratory since April 2, 2015. EGL would like to thank Guy D. Benhamou for his 23-year work as general director of the laboratory and his invaluable contribution to the development of the company in Israel and wishes him the very best in his future work.
The rights holders also announced that the European Gemological Center (EGC), also located in Ramat Gan, is now the only gemological laboratory in Israel that has the right to issue EGL reports, and to represent and use the EGL brand in Israel. Customers wishing to provide diamonds for evaluation to the EGL laboratory in Israel are invited to work with the EGC.
Menahem Sevdermish, CEO of EGC and global brand manager of EGL Worldwide (excluding EGL USA), will work closely with EGL laboratories around the world and monitor gemmological operations of the brand in each of the laboratories in order to ensure uniformity of reports and protocols.
