The opening of the new modern cutting plant is the first step in the ambitious plan of the leaders of the Israeli diamond industry to attract foreign diamond producers to the country. This plan is supported by the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (IsDMA) and the Israeli Diamond Institute (IDI) group of companies.
According to Israeli sources, the new center of cuts with a total area of 400 square meters. meters provides subsidized jobs for 100 cutters, access to modern technologies, including the Sarine Galaxy tool, equipment for laser cutting and automatic diamond base creation, as well as opportunities for training directly at the enterprise. The main goal of this center is to enable small and medium-sized IDE member companies to produce diamonds in Israel at competitive prices, or even cheaper than abroad.
The Chairman of the IDE Industry Committee, Yoram Dvash, said: "We want to turn Israel into a diamond processing center again, this is the first step towards expanding the production of diamonds, as well as rejuvenating and training the personnel." Dvash is confident that the new modern center will be able to offer the Israeli diamond industry a better alternative to the "cheap" cutting enterprises of China and India.
In addition, the Academy has opened an academy for training new cutters in the new enterprise, special emphasis is being placed on training young people in order to grow a new generation of cutters.
Dvash also said that the new measures taken by the industry will have an explosive effect on the development of this industry. "I already received several calls from diamantaires from Israel and from abroad who asked for help in organizing the production of diamonds in Israel, and there is no doubt that this will lead to the development of the entire cutting industry in Israel," he said.
