The Israeli Diamond Exchange (IDE) and the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association (Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association) organize a biannual meeting of the Presidents of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) and the International Manufacturers Association Association, IDMA) in Israel on June 14-16, 2015.
At this three-day event, leaders of 30 WFDB diamond stock exchanges and 16 IDMA member organizations will meet to discuss the major challenges facing the international diamond industry. At the talks, a group of privileged guests will join them, who are mainly representatives of the largest diamond mining companies, organizations providing the necessary goods and services to the diamond industry, for example, banks and other financial institutions, insurance companies, logistics and security companies, technology firms, and government and non-governmental bodies and other groups whose sphere of interest includes operations with diamonds and diamonds.
The meetings of the presidents of the world diamond exchanges began in 1980 and are held every two years.
IDE President Shmuel Schnitzer, who is concurrently the honorary president of the WFDB, said the meeting is taking place at a time when the diamond industry faces many challenges: rough supplies, low prices for diamonds, the need for additional financing, and increasing competition with parties of other segments of premium products.
"We are looking forward to meeting with our colleagues from exchanges affiliated with the WFDB and IDMA member organizations, and we hope to discuss with them ways of improving and developing our industry," said Schnitzer.
