Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) together with Gemewizard presented new courses on the evaluation of gems, which are designed specifically for jewelers, gemologists and gems lovers, according to a press release received by Rough & Polished. The courses will introduce students to the basics of assessing and assigning the market value of stones. The course starts in February.
In November, Gemewizard President Menahem Sevdermish said that the courses will teach the assessment, analysis and classification of stones in color and purity. Students will also learn about the latest techniques and tools available in the worldwide network that will help them learn about the quality of the precious stone and give it a real market assessment.
Sevmermish said: "Gemewizard has found an excellent partner in the person of Gem-A, which is the leading organization in the field of teaching gemmological disciplines in order to create an innovative and breakthrough training course. The experience and knowledge usually acquired over many years of precious stones trading are now available to study in just a few months. "
James Riley, CEO of Gem-A, said: "As with all our latest projects, we are using new technologies that will change the gemstone industry in the future." Gemewizard Color Gems Evaluation System and its GemePrice system are unique computer tools that play an important role in the market. We believe in Gem-A that it is important to create such educational programs that would allow students to start trading and at the same time be aware of all the latest changes in the industry.
