Chief Minister of India Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis (Devendra Fadnavis) was the most important guest at the award ceremony for the representatives of the Indian Gems & Jewelery Awards (IGJA), organized by the Council for the Promotion of the Export of Gemstones and Jewelry (Gem & Jewelery Export Promotion Council, GJEPC). The event was held on January 29, 2015 at the National Center for Theatrical Arts in Mumbai.
The three main companies-winners were Kiran Group, Hari Krishna Group and SRK Group. Each of them received more than one award, including in such prestigious categories as the largest turnover, the best developing company, the most innovative company, the exporter of the year. Navin Mehta from D. Navinchandra & Co was honored for his special personal contribution to the diamond industry.
During the congratulatory speech to the winners, Chief Minister Fadnavis assured that his government would support the industry, and guaranteed that its growth in the Indian state of Maharashtra would continue. Chairman GJEPC Vipul Shah (Vipul Shah) assured the audience that with the support of the chief minister, the Indian jewelery and jewelry industry will be able to reach new heights.
