At the VicenzaOro exhibition, the organizer Fiera di Vicenza and the Women's Jewelery Association in Italy (WJA Italy) signed an agreement aimed at supporting the development of entrepreneurship and creativity among women in the jewelry sector.
The agreement provides for cooperation in developing content, publishing information, organizing events to raise awareness of women and men about important issues of interest to the industry.
Alba Cappellieri, a professor of jewelry design at the Polytechnic Institute in Milan, who is also the director of the newly opened first museum of jewelry, Vicenza Museo del Gioiello, was appointed the new president of WJA Italy.
The president of Fiera di Vicenza Matteo Marzotto highlighted the importance of this partnership: "The desire to create strategic alliances with the most authoritative figures in the jewelry sector both domestically and abroad is an integral part of the philosophy of the Fiera di Vicenza brand."
In turn, the new president of the Italian association added that she "is more convinced than ever that jewelry requires projects with innovative content, and in this respect the competence, creativity, passion and energy of skilled women will help bring real value added The main focus of the association will be to support and strengthen the reputation of women in this sector. "
The Women's Jewelry Association was founded in 1976 in the United States and today is the leading organization among women in this sector. It includes more than 1,000 members from the US alone. Two additional units were opened in 2010 in Rome and in India, headquartered in Mumbai. In accordance with the new agreement, the Italian branch of the association will move from Rome to Vicenza.
