Canadian diamond company Dominion Diamond Corporation has announced its production results in the Diavik mine (Diavik) for the third quarter of calendar year 2016. Processing volumes increased by 22% compared to the same period the previous year, primarily due to the higher availability of ore, in particular of the tube A-418 - due to poor soil conditions.

Prices for blue fancy diamonds rose by 1.7%, on pink fancy diamonds - by 0.5%, while prices for yellow fancy diamonds fell by 1.8%. Prices for fancy diamonds all bright and rich colors have shown steady growth, which was partially offset by lower prices for other colored diamonds in fancy category.
