On Monday, the day before the opening of the exhibition, an explosion exploded in Bangkok's commercial area of Ratchaprasong, which resulted in three people being killed and sixty injured. The first day of the event was not very crowded, especially compared to last year, when the exhibition hall was filled with visitors and it was difficult to get to individual stands.
"Many of our customers canceled their visit to the exhibition because of the emergency situation in Bangkok," the manager of J.Siam Group told Rough & Polished. She also noted that in 2013, customers from Ukraine almost stopped ordering jewelry - the result of another, no less powerful political crisis.
"This year's exhibition is very quiet. But our business is much better than we expected, "said the director and owner of Jewelena.
