The total price index for PolishedPrices polished February 5 set a price record for 20 months, and by the end of the month the index fell slightly, the agency reports on Polishedprices.com.
As of the end of February, the price index for diamonds reached 143.1 points, down 0.8% since early 2014. However, the average value of the index for February - 145.4 points - was 1.1% higher than the average in January and 4.3% higher than the corresponding figure for February 2013.
The main PolishedPrices index remained within the upper bounds of the forecast made by the agency at the beginning of the year, and the expectations of traders for the remainder of the year remain positive.
