Less than eight weeks before the opening of the Congress of the World Jewelery Confederation (CIBJO), scheduled for May 19 in Moscow, the organization unveiled a special report on the state of the world jewelry industry. The report was prepared by the CIBJO Commission for Marketing and Education, led by Jonathan Kendall.
According to the report, 2013 was a success for the jewelry industry. Industry figures have increased, in many business entities the growth was 5% with a positive situation in the US, but slow growth in Europe.
In the first half of last year, a good start was given to business in developing countries, but the second half of the year was problematic for some of them, especially for India.
