Hong Kong's Diamond Services Ltd., which offers the latest technology solutions for the diamond and jewelry industries, announced that its latest development, the DiamaTest system, has successfully determined the synthetic origin of the IaAB diamond of 0.138 carats. However, the test of this diamond with the help of another device - DiamondSure - showed that the stone is natural.
"We recently received a batch of synthetic diamonds for research purposes. A stone weighing 0.138 carats from this batch turned out to be a synthetic diamond of the type IaAB. Our DiamaTest system was able to easily install it, but the DiamondSure device qualified the diamond as natural! Although the test stone did not show phosphorescence, the research with the DiamondView device showed natural lines characteristic of natural diamonds, "commented Yossi Kuzi, owner of Diamonds Services.
Kuzi, who is also the owner of the Hong Kong gemological laboratory EGL Asia, said he would gladly provide this diamond for further testing and research by major international gemological laboratories that will show interest in him.
The DiamaTest system will be officially released in March during the upcoming Hong Kong Jewelery Fair (Hong Kong Jewelery Show).
