At the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), the first tender of rough diamonds mined in Zimbabwe was launched, with more than 400,000 carats of raw diamonds exhibited.
According to DDE, the proposed raw materials were produced by companies Anjin, Jinan, DTZ, DMC, Marange Resources, Mbada and Kusena.
On the first day of the tender, more than 105 companies registered to participate in the bidding. "Over the past decade, DDE has been an important pillar of diamond trade in African countries, acting as an intermediary between extracting and consuming countries," DDE Chairman Peter Meeus said.
