The Israeli Diamond Exchange (IDE) once again was lucky enough to receive a generous donation of gemmological equipment, which all members of the exchange will be able to use, the Russian Jewelery Network reports.
IDE reports that Lior Gemological Equipment decided to donate several state-of-the-art devices to the technological department of IDE free of charge. Among them there is a special working table with a granite countertop, a professional light source, a device for determining the degree of fluorescence, a device for weighing rough diamonds and diamonds. Another important for diamantaires equipment - a device for assessing the internal stress of precious stones before their cutting - the company transferred the exchange to use.
Executive Director of Lior Gemological Equipment Lior Strang said that the weighing device is designed for stones weighing up to 600 carats and provides accuracy of indications up to 0,001 carats. The desk lamp uses two separate lamps with an intensity of 6500 and 6800 kelvin. He added that the granite countertop prevents vibration, and due to its use, such a high degree of accuracy of weighing is achieved.
