The World Diamond Council (WDC) announced an updated function on its website, through which it is easy to access the provisions of the System of Warranties (SoW) of this organization, according to a press release received by Rough & Polished. The system of guarantees is a voluntary system for regulating the diamond industry, created to support and advance the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. SoW is the main tool for WDC, since the purpose of this organization is to create a global system of communication between the Kimberley Process participants, governments of different countries, representatives of the industry and civil society in order to stop the flow of diamonds from conflict zones.
"One of my main tasks as a WDC manager is to connect our organization to the industry," says Edward Ascher, president of WDC, "The first step towards improving our relationship with the diamond industry will be to simplify their access to the provisions of our Guarantee systems ".
Within SoW, producers and buyers of diamonds, diamonds and jewelry with these stones are required to place a special text on each of the invoices. According to these requirements, traders guarantee that the diamonds and diamonds they sell are not from conflict zones and are not used for improper purposes.
The main task of the WDC as an organization is to represent the diamond industry in terms of introducing and developing a regulatory framework for controlling diamonds that have been subject to UN embargoes or falling under the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.
