GJEPC mentioned the previous circular of November 6, 2013, in which he informed his members that industry participants are concerned about the cases of mixing unannounced artificial diamonds with natural diamonds.
As noted in the document, GJEPC was informed that recently domestic and international buyers of diamonds and diamond jewelry began to ask for declarations from sellers with a guarantee of the natural origin of such diamonds.
Given the current situation, GJEPC recommended that all Board members issue declarations to all invoices and consignment documents in accordance with the guidelines of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) regarding both origin and acceptance of the goods. It is also indicated that if the declaration is found to be false, and artificial diamonds or diamonds mixed with natural stones are found in the goods lot, then lawsuits may be brought against the members who issued such a declaration.
