"The production of CSARITE crystals of this size and quality is a very difficult task, given how much raw materials are lost when cutting it," said Murat Akgun, president of Milenyum Mining Ltd, which owns the only mine where diamonds are suitable for cutting. Such crystals of a larger size could have been faceted earlier only in the form of a cabochon, and demonstrated the effect of a "cat's eye" and color changes.

The large faceted CSARITE crystal exhibits a pronounced and beautiful color change depending on the lighting, reports Milenyum Mining. In 2014, a large pear-shaped CSARITE crystal weighing 88.49 carats was awarded the AGTA Cutting Edge Award.
