Jewelers of America (JA) purchased the National Jeweler from Emerald Expositions, representatives of both organizations said in a joint statement. The Board of Directors of JA approved the acquisition of the publication, but did not disclose the financial details of the transaction. The acquisition of a new JA asset will take place at the end of January. JA and National Jeweler will remain independent and will act independently.
"I am happy to announce the acquisition of the National Jeweler.Jewelers of America can serve both the interests of its members and the entire industry," said Bill Farmer Jr., chairman of the board of directors of JA.
"National Jeweler naturally fits into the format of our organization, as it supports our goal - to be a source of information for jewelry retailers," said David J. Bonaparte, President and CEO of JA.
"For us this is a time of opportunity." After the launch of its own online store last autumn, the National Jeweler will definitely develop, "he added.
Both Jewelers of America and National Jeweler were founded in 1906, each of the campaigns is the authority for the retail jewelry market.
